Would you be pissed if your SO wore a shirt that said "Single and Successful?"

I was watching "What Not to Wear" the other day because I'm sick and can't go anywhere (and because I think Stacy London is gorgeous http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=3850760), and this chick was on the show and she was wearing a shirt that said "Single and Successful." Except she had a boyfriend.

I was thinking, I'd be pretty pissed if my gf went out wearing a shirt like that.

And then the guy on the show made fun of her and her shirt. He goes "well this shirt doesn't say 'successful'... but the 'single?' it's like 'no shit!'" lol (they bleeped out "shit").

So would you consider that to be false advertising/attention whoring/whatever or would you not care if your SO wore a shirt saying that they were "Single and Successful"?

I don't think I'd treat it like the end of the world, but I'm make it clear that it's a stupid shirt to wear and makes her look like a desperate skank. If I'm not going to be around her while she's wearing it, she's free to look like that if she must, so long as she only looks the part and doesn't act it.

I think it's disrespectful. Some people take being your own person too far. Then again, "single" means not married. :dunno:

It's just a shirt. Do you think your gf is going to either encourage guys to hit on her/approach her when she wears this shirt?

Do you you think she is going to act just the same as if she were wearing some other shirt?

Do you trust her to reject anyone who would ask her out based on a shirt?

It's just a shirt. This is NOT something to worry about.

That's how I see it, so it always sounds weird to me when at weddings they ask the single women and men to come up to catch the boquet or garter. The first time I wouldn't go up because I had a gf so I didn't consider myself single :o

I wouldn't care. As long as she isn't cheating, what does it matter to me what she wears.

You guys are really insecure and self-centered. Might explain why your stuck here trying to analyze little details instead of outside learning from your mistakes.

I would probably take a marker and cross out single. Or somehow color bleach it.

To those of you who wouldn't care, why would you want your SO advertising that he/she's single?

It's just a shirt. How would it be any different than someone wearing a shirt from a school they don't attend, a company they no longer work for, a sports team they don't really follow?

Now, if she was actually SAYING she was single, that's different.

But do you really think people are going to think THAT much about what her shirt says?

If I see a woman wearing a shirt with something on it, I'll read it. If she has nice boobs, I'll read it a couple of times. But that's about it, it doesn't usually go any further than that.

I would assume a chick wearing a shirt that said "single and successful" was at least single and was wearing the shirt to announce that she is "looking" for a guy.

I wouldn't wear a shirt that announced that I was "single" if I had a gf.

I think it isn't people wanting their SO to be advertising that, and more some people can take a joke/have better things to worry about.

If you can't trust your gf wearing a shirt that says that it doesn't speak much for your relationship to begin with.

    Single means not married.

I mean, you can misuse the word if you want, but that's what it means.

My girlfriend has a shirt that she got a couple years ago that says:
    "My boyfriend's out of town"
Well when I first saw it, I don't think I made too big of a scene but I made it pretty clear that I didn't want her wearing it. She said 'but it's true when you're away at school!' and while that may have been true, I think that's even worse! Anyway, she wears it inside out now. But the nerve of wearing it while I was gone! agh, getting a little annoyed just thinking back on it now.

because im in a healthy relationship based on trust. If I can't trust her to do what she wants then why the fuck would I ever date her?

falconer you really worry me man.

It's similar to your gf answering "no" to the question "do you have a boyfriend?" I could trust her, but that's something that would give me reason to stop.

    Single doesn't mean "not married."

If you have a LTR and a chick comes up to you in a bar and asks "are you single?" you don't say "yes."
