I was looking at this set on ebay and was wondering if it would sound good w/out a small amp to power it. It would just be hooked up to my clairon DXZ745MP cd player.

    THanks

A set of decent coax's would probably be better. I've always been disappointed with comps ran of the hu.

Well I've already spen near a grand on my system, and i just need to replace my door speakers, and then some panel ones and I'm done. I have Infinity Kappa Series in there now, but they are fuckin crackly so I think its time for some new ones. I didn't want to spend money on another amp just for my component speakers. Can you recommend me a decent set of 6.5" speakers for my doors(2)?

How can you spend a grand and not deal with your front stage :ugh:

    Pretty close to a grand.

    JBL 1200.1 amp = ~$330
    Resonant Engineering 10" subs (2) = ~$300
    Clairon Head Unit = ~$300

You got some good stuff though. Since your system is nice already you really should invest in an amp to power your speakers. It will pay off definitely. As for actualy 6.5s check out crystal , cdt for cheaper really nice speakers

    Great thanks.

Well yes a second amp would be nice, but I have a 2000 chevy single cab pickup and I don't have a whole lot of room for a 2nd amp :sad2:
