I would never buy anything other than video games from Best Buy.

Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USM zoom lens (This lens is trash)
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Zoom Lens (Not sure on this, but I hear the autofocus is pretty slow)

Generally when it comes to these all-inclusive kits you're better off buying what you need seperately because everything they include in the kits are sub-par to keep the price low. My recommendation would be to buy just the body and a quality piece of glass. :dunno:

Kit lenses are never very good. You won't really notice how bad they are until you invest in real glass and notice the difference. I'd buy just the body and get the lenses separate.

Best Buy is a rip off for stuff like cameras I paid $575 for my XT with kit lens...and if that 75-300 is the lens I'm thinking of its a pile of garbage seriously

It's really going to be what you use it for. The Nikon has less MP and is probably a little faster camera. It also has more color modes and a black and white option that I don't believe the Rebel has. The Nikon takes SD, the rebel takes Compact Flash (I prefer compact flash). The Rebel gives more control over shutter speed and ISO. Also, the rebel seems to have more control over the white balance. I would set up both cameras side be side and compare the features and decide which ones are more important to you.

I like to shoot a lil bit of everything, I would like to do more macro shots and skyline shots though, I really like to take night shots the most!

judging by those you would probably get the most use out of a wideangle, followed by either a telephoto or a midrange

    I hope you price matched...

If not, and it's been less than 30 days. Take that mofo back with the receipt and have them refund you the difference between them and Ritz or something.
