would there be a difference in tax online vs instore?

    Im about to bite the bullet and buy the middle model macbook. Tax is $70 online, proabably stupid to ask, but just to make sure, would it be 70$ at the bookstore too? Kind of negates the student discount, oh well

    you'll get hit for state tax in any state where apple has a physical retail presence (i.e. apple stores), so either way you'll get hit for tax... and you'll have to pay shipping ordering online, not to mention waiting for the MB to arrive.

    Shipping is generally free for stuff from Apple if the price is more than like $50

    Even though you are "legally" required to pay those taxes at the end of the year...
