    I guess I'd be looking to trade my early 2008 8-core 2.8Ghz, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD w/ 256MB video card, and Applecare until 2011 for a 2009 24" iMac + like $450 cash?

    IBFail.

Epic downgrade FTL. But if I had an iMac I'd bite for sure.

Well, the reason is because I bought a Canon 5D2 along w/ a 24-70 f/2.8L lens and need to pay it off, but still need a Mac.

If anyone wants the trade and you have a 2009 iMac with 512MB of video + $450 cash, lemme know. If you're close to Chicago, it'd be nice to do it in person.

If you do that, you'll wish you would have kept it. My friend bought his 5DMk2 and upgraded from his high end iMac to an 8 core Mac Pro.

I have a 17" MBP Unibody and a regular macbook, the Mac Pro doesn't get the usage that I want. Hoping that the 24" iMac would be better suited for my kids also.

Just incase you aren't aware, new iMacs are rumoured to be comming in October. Rumours of quad-core processors and an LED backlit display are the bigger changes.
