I'm about to launch my webstore and would appreciate WMDers input as to content, pricing, product offering, etc. I'm not asking you to buy anything as alot of my items are out of stock (if I have something you want, feel free to buy it but I'm not soliciting you guys for sales).

    Site address is http://midwestpx.com/

Clean and simple, great prices as always. Only problem is that some of the pictures are coming out stretched or distorted.

Otherwise, it looks good to me. Of course, you've only got a few items up, but it looks like it'll take off once you get more stuff on there, esp with the nice pricing.

    1) make the site look more professional
    2) lower your prices
    3) don't have your pictures or products distorted
    4) don't have a form for "contact us". People want to know where you're located and if you're legit

:dunno:, just giving feedback as you requested

Nah, no MAP restrictions on me since I refuse to buy direct from any manufacturer that requires it.

Contact form looks good, but a physical location (even if it's your home) looks more legit IMO.

As far as the site, you are missing several pictures, usually when the categories on the left branch into sub categories. Also, I notice that you have a "specials" link at the bottom menu, but no where else. You should put specials as a link on the left menu, or maybe have the default home page showcase these "specials" (assuming, of course you are running specials. Even if you aren't, I wouldn't see it being a bad idea). I also find the "What's New" text to be slightly confusing, as it's not a link and the placement of it is strange. Maybe when you have more products displayed it would make more sense.

I dunno, just some random things I noticed. What CMS is that? Joomla? It looks pretty decent IMO.

I think mainly, since you don't have a lot of stock right now and most of it isn't IN stock, I would work more on the site before it goes life. That's general rule of thumb, as you don't want to lose potential customers right off the bat due to a site not being completely ready.

Also I noticed your CA-Friendly section.

Its cool and all, but I can see someone giving you crap for an XDM Rebuild kit. Since well, there are no such things as pre-ban XD mags. So there would be no reason to "repair" a magazine owned before the ban.

Oh, I haven't seen that OSC theme before.... I liked the robustness of their CMS, but I hadn't seen a theme that didn't have the typical OSC look/feel. It seemed like it tended to dominate a site.

    Looks pretty cool.

Re size your images with PS, use those for your thumbnails. Might save you some bandwidth, and it will look better.

Rebuilds can be used to create pinned mags.

Yes, thats true, I'm not trying to say that you're wrong, just a word of caution since technically speaking they wouldn't be used to "rebuild" anything.:hs:

You guys raise a good point; I eliminated the CA-friendly section and created a Mag Rebuild section which also serves a second purpose of providing rebuilds to more than just CA.
