MIL Would a surface-blast nuke stop a hurricane?

    umm no. unless it was so big that it could break up all the clouds and keep them from recombining into a nuclear hurricane raining nuclear rain drops. killing everybody.:rofl: we have to do that to china

    I think this was a hypothesis back in the day. I forget the exact science behind why it won't work, but it is along the lines that Gaunt mentioned.

    They would send Bruce Willis into the eye of the hurricane to plant the nukes, then he would sacrifice himself to set the nukes off.

    That's pretty much the most effective way to spread the maximum amount of fallout over the greatest distance.

    Wouldn't even faze a hurricane, which is liberating energy at the rate of a 10 megaton bomb every minute.
