I was just going to get a CPO 226, but I plan on getting a trident soon enough for a 9mm AR build so I figured I'd get a handgun that could use it right away :dunno:

Why not just get the P226 and buy a new factory threaded barrel and raised suppressor sights for it? You'd come out ahead of the Combat in terms of cost. The P226 Combat TB doesn't come with the raised sights like the P220 Combat TB does, which kind of diminishes it's appeal IMO.

If you can afford it, there's really no reason not to.

Why can't the ex-Kimber CEO just die or move on from SIG already? :wtc: I love my Sigs (which have performed without issue) and it sucks they are getting such a bad name now.

Not surprising, I'd be willing to bet that Kimber sells more 1911's than just about anyone else.

When I was working at a gunstore, we sold Kimbers probably 5 to 1 compared to any other 1911. And we made more money off them too (which is why you see so many dealers trying to hawk them).

  9. Exactly. Cheapen the brand and market to the masses and you're guaranteed increased short term profits. This shit plays out time and time again in every industry. It never ends well.

Maybe I'll just get a Glock or XD in 9mm and get a 220 later on :dunno:

Yes, it would. Everyone's first gun should be a Glock 19. :o

But thats the deciding factor between two sig 226's, not a sig and glock for example :hsugh:

If you buy a Sig, but a CPO. They are just like new, and older production guns, so the quality is still right there. I love my CPO 226.
