Well it took a while, but my Glock finally bit the dust, the frame at least.

It's gotten a lot of use the last couple years.

Call glock and give them the serial number. There were a certain range of serial numbers that were defective and replaced free of charge because of broken frame rails or potential of breakage.

Glock might replace it even if it does not fall in the serial number range or charge a very reasonable fee to make another frame with the same serial number.

Did you intentionally focus on the carpet?

It is some beautiful carpet, though.

It's actually an issued gun, so I'll just get a new one from my work.
One of my instructors is an armorer, he said it's not uncommon on the .40's because of the increased pressures.

    Thanks though.

It really only happens to a certain serial number range. I've got a glock 35 with over 150,000+ round through it (went through several barrels). Major PF ammo, no problems with frame rails.

I'm sure Yar is shooting Major with his 35 so he's not running mouse fart loads.

That looks like a 2nd gen frame, yes?

Except that most PD's use FMJ at the range. They're not out there shooting cases of Gold Dots to qualify... Not that the energy/ballistics are much different.

Correct, we only shoot one box of duty ammo each time, all the rest is blazer or similar.

    We shoot reloads

  16. According to Glock, the problem happens on some pistols made between 9-2001 and 5-2002.

gun also shoots fine with 3 frame rails. I know of several guys who shot them for 6 months because it was the thick of the shooting season and they could not be without their gun for a few weeks.

Though as you can imagine everyone would want to get it swapped out at some point.

I wish. All my agency seems to shoot at qualifiers is the duty ammo we've been carrying since the last range.

Shoot your mags empty, reload with new duty ammo, leave. :ugh:

The high PF he was referring to is "power factor"... a.k.a. not little soft rounds.

Regardless of the reported serial number range, that is exactly the failure seen with the recalled frames.
