Hey I saw this on the canon forums:

Dell Home has the new Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) in stock at $899 - 15% off - $60 off $500 code 82JMMHN1GRWXLZ [Exp 10/13, 7k] + $1 handling = $705 with free shipping

Is it worth selling my 300d on ebay and getting the 350d? Has anyone had both cameras, and if so is the 350 a lot better? I'm thinking about saving up for a 20d, but 705 seems like a good price for the xt.

8MP, AI Servo available in all shooting modes, 14 shot buffer (18 with a fast card like Sandisk Ultra II, possibly more with an even faster card), 3fps instead of 2.5, much, much faster start-up time (0.1sec on the 350D), smaller and lighter body, faster autofocus, better ISO performance.
If you think it's worth it, then go for it.
Do I think it's worth it? Nope. You'd be better off shelling some extra money and getting a (used?) 20D.

the buffer on the rebel classic is pathetic

that'd be worth a 200 dollar upgrade for me

i have a 300D with the best buy warranty on it. I keep praying the shutter will die on me or something will break electronically and I'll "have to" shell out for the upgrade.

Yeah, the grip does wonders. I should've bought it when I first got my XT but oh well, I eventually bought it and it's a lot better now, still no 20D though :wtc:

I went from a 300d to a 20d. Luckily my friends have the XT & 20d for me to play with before I made up my mind. I keep the 300d as a back up.

I'm sure something will 'break' just before the warranty is up. :naughty: If anything...bring it to a kindergarden class for show and tell. Let the kids play with it. :hsd:

Just make sure Best Buy doesn't have the 300d in stock anymore.

Just keep turn it on sequence mode and hold it down whenever you have nothing to do. Then format the card when it gets full and start over.
