I got it last night and I've read the first chapter. So far it's pretty awesome. I didn't read the zombie survival guide, but now that I'm reading this and really enjoying it, I may have to pick that up also. If anyone hasn't already checked it out, You should also look into Day by Day Armageddon by J.L. Bourne.

I'm having a hard time staying interested in this book. It's more of a giant interview with various people than a book book. I"m gonna finish it, but it gets a meh/10 right now.

I got it. I like the interview style of the book. Reminds me of a documentary.

Got the audio book but haven't been able to listen through it. Is the print version any more interesting?

Threads in this subforum don't get pruned. Anything scifi/horror/fantasy related you post in the main forum and don't want to lose, move it here when it drops off the first couple pages.

I doubt it was deleted. Threads in the main forum automatically get pruned periodically.

Nope. Pruned = gone. It's to conserve space on the server.

I'm done, and I really liked it. The only thing that really bothers me is the whole "it's a virus and you don't reanimate if you weren't bitten" thing. It just doesn't mix with Romero's stories, which - to me, at least - are authoritative when it comes to zombies.

In Romero's universe, EVERYBODY who dies comes back, whether they were bitten or not. The plague wouldn't just be over because you killed all the walking dead - you'd have to have a total change of lifestyle, permanently. Part of funeral rites would have to be crushing the skull, and outbreaks could always flare up again, if somebody dies alone and without damage to the brain. There's no "back to normal life". It would be something humanity would have to learn to live with forever.

I loved his survival book, and I'm expecting to get World War Z as a gift for my b-day (friends keep hinting at it). Can't wait to read it yet!
