I checked the stickies and didn't see much on this question.

Getting my first one done in a week or so and I'm just wondering if its gonna be ok to workout after.

Not so much lifting, but doing cardio. I 'm getting ready for USMC OCS and my training is pretty important to me. I just sweat alot when I run outside cause I go 8-10 miles and I guess thats my main concern.

Should I take the day off afterward?

    Thanks for the help.

I'd take the next day off, but more depending on how big and where, if it's a tiny tattoo on your upper arm, you'll prolly be fine. the bigger the tattoo is the more you will be in pain and not feel like doing shit.

the biggest thing to worry about is working out at a gym, the chance for staph infection or hep b is out there, if you do work out at a gym, disenfect the equipment before and after you use it.

Depends on the size. Don't do any lifting but if you are going to do cardio, wait at least 24 hours and make sure that you clean off the sweat off of the tattoo area to avoid infection

Another good way to keep wear from getting in to your tattoo is to put Aveeno unscented lotion on it before you work out. That way theres a "cover" on it.

I usually wait at least 3 days just to let the swelling go down but it really depends on the location/size if it's really going to affect it or not.
