A&P Working in photoshop v. messingwithmasking

    Learning the basics of photoshop. Took two pictures of waves and layered them with a picture of a random guy who was overlooking the ocean that same day. What do you think?

    I think it would be better if he was looking out at the ocean... and maybe make him smaller and darker or.....

    he was looking out at the ocean, I just was to the side of him :dunno:

    im having trouble flipping the guy horizontally. How can I flip my two solid fill layers of the guy but not the two wave layers? :o

    yes all sorts of tutorials I was checking out @ http://www.photoshoplab.com/

    can anyone help me with flipping my particular layer and not the whole canvas?

    What I would do is select the layer you want, hit ctrl-a, ctrl-c, ctrl-alt-n, and then ctrl-v. Then flip that canvas and replace it with the one in your original picture.

    thank you sir, that worked quite well :bigok:

    -- keesh I tried your idea as well, but without free transforming it, it flipped the wave underneath as well. I guess they were connected somehow, and im still too noob at PS to understand how. Thank you both for the help :wiggle:

    its a very interesting photo but the wave photos should include more water than shore. my .02 though.
