What helps you pay for your photog equipment? Aka: Career, Fulltime Job, P/T Job, parents, welfare, unemployment?

    Me:

Full time Job: I work for Wyndham Vacation Ownership as a assistant cellular administrator, basically manage over 2000+ lines of employee cell phones and for the most part a blackberry enterprise administrator.

    Part time Jobs:
    1. Following www.rally-america.com as a photographer at least 75% of the races, Get flown to events, hotel, all costs for free by one team, and am in contract with another team for actual pay.
    2. Following the www.Wmrra.com Washington Motorcycle Road Racing Association and being the team photographer for www.eastsidemotorsports.com a team of 8 riders based out of Bellevue, WA
    3. Following the Formula Drift Series working for Tanner Foust and the AEM team and Dai Yoshihara of the Rockstar team, This is just an "All Expenses Paid" deal for me, but the most fun.

I'm curious how everyone else pays for their hobby.

    Me:

Full time Job: Work in the office and actual delivery operations of our family owned seafood wholesale company.

    Part time Jobs:

Don't really have any part time gigs. I shot some HS football a few years ago that paid $100 a game, and I would cover 2 games a night. That was fun.

CarDomain paid me $250 to shoot a ghetto DUB show in Cincinnati, OH

Ricers pay me to take pics of their car, if I am lucky.

I work in IT at a technical art school, and my responsibilities largely revolve around the testing and configuration of new software and hardware that we plan on teaching at the school. I configure all of the PC's and the Mac's in the Photo department with the necessary hardware and software.

I also have a sidejob working with my dad and his small business gutting, rebuilding and flipping houses - mostly general construction, drywall, etc...

Oh, and I have another side job detailing cars...

I have to fund both my photography AND ice hockey goalie hobbies... So I need a couple extra jobs...
