is it ok to have chest and shoulders on the same day?

i was doing them on the same day and then somone told me i shouldnt do chest and shoulders on the same day, so i switched up and started doing this

    day 1-
    chest/tri
    day 2-
    back/bi
    day 3-
    shoulders/legs

    rinse repeat..

now between shoulders/chest days when u repeat your only getting 24 hrs rest. i was always told you should get 48 hours rest on those muscles, if they dont repair themselfs they will never grow.

should i keep on doing what im doing? change my routine back to chest/shoulders on same day? make my routine 4 days?

it does? cool, but the problem im having is idk if having only a 24 hr rest between shoulders and chest is ok, or it should be longer.

because on chest day your working your shoulders a little so im thinking thier wouldnt be enough resting time for the shoulders

i wouldn't dare put chest and shoulders on the same day. those are like the 2 largest muscle groups.

    try something like this:

    chest/bis
    shoulders/tris
    tris/bis
    back/tris
    shoulders/bis
    chest

abs at least 5 sets of 10 everyday. on the off day I usually like to go and just do abs until I puke

if you can only fit in 3 days, i wouldn't do chest again on the 3rd day, replace that with legs. put in few sets of squats with shoulders on the 3rd day and deadlifts on the 2nd day.

i dunno about that routine. if you're doing body part splits, you probably shouldn't do the same part more than once a week. it depends on how hard you go each workout. you might be better suited on a 4 day push/pull routine, taking wednesday off, or use wednesday as abs/cardio.

if you must do 5 days, i've been doing chest, legs, shoulders, back, tris/bis/calves. but some others might have better ideas...

you're still doing some major muscle groups twice a week. the only way i would do that is if i did a total body routine, where you hit all muscle groups 3 times a week. but seeing as you'll probably be doing 3-4 lifts for one body part per session, it's a bit of a lot to do that twice a week.

what's to question? though i wouldn't say the shoulders are one of the two largest group. i'd say that it's a major muscle group. but i get guod's point.

both chest and shoulders are not large muscle groups compared to legs and back
