How long should one wait between work outs? It seems to me that one day is a reasonable amount of time for your muscles to fully recover from a work out. Some people say that you shouldn't work one muscle group more than once a week. This seems like way too long to wait and you could work out every other day and still obtain maxium results. Anyone know for sure?

no, unless you are willing to do a byopsy.

it all depends on what you have done to your muscles.....IE no eccentric no DOMS....a lot less recovery time

some people belive that one work set is all you need to grow and that you should train the same muscles every 2-3 days.

Just basic lifting. 12 reps, 3 sets, each muscle. Is it ok to do something like that every other day?

*EDIT* With weight heavy enough to only be able to achieve 12 reps in a set.
