ok, we got an att rep and a cingular rep here...so i figure between the two of you you can answer my question. im getting gsm in august and im torn between att and cingular. i like cingular cause of rollover mins but they charge for incoming texts and att seems to have the better deals as far as minutes for the money is concerned (although no rollover). so...lets say i get att...what happens at the end of the year or around there, when the buy out is complete. i will then be a cingular customer right? does that mean i will get rollover minutes? will i start getting charged for text messages? or will i just be a cingular customer with my same plan?

you will still be an AT&T customer and Cingular cannot change any part of your contract. after the contract expires then you will be a Cimgualt customer if you should decide to stick with them. right now because of the merge AT&T has got better plans going, but you will lose the rollever minutes if thats a big deal to you. i personally would go with AT&T

you might be able to get a better deal on the v600 depending on who you work for. go into the store or have customer care connect you to the national business organization and tell them to look up your company to see if there are any discounts available. i know the usps gets 50% of the phones.

on a side note, i cant wait until the merger is complete. i'm anxious to be see what the new #1 wireless carrier in the us is going to be like. by the time the merger is complete, everyone in our store will have moved on to other jobs, except the store manager :(, but i hope they get rid of upper management b/c ours sucks hardcore most of the time

how will he still be an at&t customer when cingular takes over?? When cingular takes over, you will be a cingular customer, but they will not make any adverse changes to your plan w/o offering you an opt-out contract.

I want to switch to the family plan for i think its 69 a month. And get the second phone for 999. They are telling me I need two gsm phones. Which is cool but is there anyway i can replace my current triband phone with a gsm phone for free. The cingular store I went to told me 199,99 and a two year contract extension. I dont want to be locked in that long. And 199 for a phone is crazy if i am going to be upgradeing my plan.

You'll be the #1 in customer base, not service area or quality. Remember that. ;)

:nono: service area WILL be the largest GSM coverage (which is what the emphasis is going to be on) and as far as quality...well thats relative.

so will you be able to hook me up with some deal if i wanna upgrade my phone? I have been using Cingular for over 2 yrs already, contract is over so i m on a month to month basis. i want to get a new phone and stay with my service. looking into getting the t637. can you hook me up with a deal?

also, do you have any 'inside information' about what new upcoming phones cingular stores will have? I dont wanna go with the t637 and then a month later some other new phones come out.

Let me know ok? Thanks! :x:

Can you get me a deal on a V400? I already have an account with Cingular and I upgraded in January to a T720 and it sucks.

I personally don't work for a cell phone company, but my fiance is a customer care rep for T-Mobile. I can ask her any questions from you guys. Also, she hears from other customers about probs with phones, so I can pass that along also.
