Well, if the backup has the wp-config file, then you have the username and password to the database. I'm sure there's a script out there that will export all the tables for you. If not, I don't think writing one would be that difficult yourself. :dunno:

She is worried about her backlinks?

She is hosed. She would need to 301 them... but without access to any. SORRY!

not sure what capabilities you're given w/ a hosted WP site, but are any of the rss feed options available? How much content are we talking about here? Fuck copy/pasting, I'd be doing some screen scraping over shit over that....and when I was done I'd "accidentally" turn it lose wide open and let it rape the rest of the server all night, and make sure to set a good User agent (I used to use the user agent "Thanks!!" when screen scraping other E-COmmerce sites) :mamoru:

Do you have FTP access? If you do, just pull down the wp-content folder and the wp-config file. Look in wp-config for the SQL connection info. Connect to SQL and export the wordpress DB. Install a fresh (same version) copy of WP on a new server. Upload your old wp-content folder, and edit any URL references in wp-config. Once it is installed, then import the WP database you exported.

This is probably the only way without some type of WP-specific content stripper-- which is feasible but I don't know of one.

If her current blog's rss feed shows the whole post, you could import the RSS feed

playing around with wordpress, i found an import/export feature, does not work totally, like copying html code over in posts, but worked good enough to get everything i needed from the other site
