I wouldn't use the digital zoom if I were you. :)

Of course not, I was just testing it. :) Digital zoom lowers the quality :)

Heh, it's neigher, actually, but thanks for the compliment on the zoom. It's just a point and shoot with a great lense and more advanced control than "regular" point and shoot cameras.

Did you end up buying the camera from Buydig.com? Was it pretty fast shipping?

SLR lenses are entirely different from P&S/Fixed lenses. Rule of thumb is 50mm = 1x zoom (theoretically the same as you see day to day). Every 50mm on top of that is approximately 1x additional zoom. So even the largest of SLR lenses (500mm - 800mm) only carry approximately 10x - 16x zoom.

P&S/Fixed lenses carry relatively high zooms, such as 10x, but the optical quality is pretty crappy. If the FZ15 has 6x optical, it would be roughly equivalent to a 300mm lens on an SLR.

    36-432mm f/2.8. It's an excellent Leica lens.

exactly why I love the lumix series. they outsourced the internal parts to good manufacturers :)

Leica has a neat concept behind their cameras of being a quick draw point and shoot with good optical quality.

I do miss film. There was something fun about dipping your pictures into tubs of liquid and having your photos appear. Chicks dug it too! :bigthumb:

Yup.. I paid for overnight shipping, and even though the guy said it might not be overnight due to processing, it still came when it should have.

Until you leave the developer cap off and shes reaching for something and spills it on her eyes and then you have surgery to give her your eyes and you can never be together again. :wtc: :wtc: :wtc:

Nope, I wanted a compact point and shoot that I can carry around easily so I ordered the Minolta DiMage G600 for $218 shipped. Not too bad for a 6mp camera :hs:
