Finally, im almost done with my lens kit. Only thing left is a 200-400 VR and a tilt/shift of sorts.

    Nikon 14-24 2.8G
    Sigma 15 Fish
Tamron 17-35 2.8-4 (this will become my nightlife lens again, due to the 14-24 incident)
    Nikon 24-70 2.8G
    Nikon 35 1.8G
    Nikon 50 1.8D
    Ronkinon 85 1.4
Tamron 90 2.8 Macro (i got it for a price that no one could refuse)
    Nikon 70-200 2.8G VR

I've been interested in this one. The price is right, I might pick one up for portraits. How do you like it? How sharp is it wide open?

How much do these run used? I've been wanting to pick up a macro again since I sold my 105vr.

    I love my Tammy 90mm.

The only complaint is sometimes it takes awhile to focus and as a result the bloody tube extends out, extends back, extends out, extends back until you pull your hand off the button and try again.

Heck I am becoming a Tamron whore because currently I have in Tamron:

    90mm/2.8
    17-50/2.8
    70-200/2.8

Only other lens I have is the Nikon 35/1.8.

Jared gave me the push I needed to stop hating them and try them. Tamron 17-50 fills the gap nicely for me between my 11-16 and 55-200

I was taking a wide crowd shot of a nightclub from the balcony level, a guy thought i was shooting his girlfriend dancing in the center elevated platform, and slapped teh camera out of my hand, i wasnt expecting it and it dropped off the 2nd floor. I go to lose it onteh guy, and security immediately grabs me and escorts the guy out beffore i can even think of doing anything, i run down to get camera, teh lens is kinda hanging off. Lens completely locked up, no zoom and no focusing ability. The lens mount broke, and the lens connections snapped off. The cam body was perfect.

Sent off to nikon, and they repaired it FOR FREE!!!!!! Under Warranty! Can you believe that shit!!! Nikon is fucking awesome. 3.5 weeks from sending it out to delivery back to my house, which includes Xmas and New Years. Which is pure awesomeness! So i took it as a sign from God. He let me have a freebie, so i decide not to tempt the fates. Purchased a Tamron 17-35 from my buddy Brent, and that will be my lens for shooting clubs again.

***I have insurance on my gear, but was worried about the $750 deductible and the possibility of a higher premium next year***

yeah it all worked out. it was better that security grabbed me from doing anything stupid and being banned and blacklisted in Vegas. I was upset, but what can you do, shit happens, and it all worked out.

its awesome for nikons. Its an AI's 85 1.4. Its sharp, has great bokeh, has a good MF ring, and is cheap.
