Thanks... I couldn't believe it when i heard the news.
As for the NRD, Im in indiana so that means that the recruiting station is part of michigan district (im pretty sure)
YES!!!! got my final select notice today!
OCS, here I come!
are you guaranteed a pilot slot going in this way?
Sure am, I just got home from a 7 month deployment. Time for reduced working hours and good deal dets for the next couple of months
yeah, but as gt07 said, flight physical is the devil!!!!!! hopefully, I'll pass the damn eye exam (depth perception) without a problem.
it seems like it was yesterday when I was pumping hydraulic fluid in the lineshack lol
oh btw, thanks! the damn process too long enough
what stage are you with your flight school? what platform are you planning on flying? did you go through OCS?
awesome!! thanks for the great advise man... I appreciate it.
2 years seems pretty long for flight school, that's if everything goes as planned, but im just thankful just for the opportunity that the navy has given me to start this great program!
oh, i've been reading up on airwarriors for the last year or so lol...
one question though...
how are the academics at api, primary, etc...? is it really difficult or is it just mental?
I have no engineering background at all, I just graduated with a business degree
update: leaving for OCS next week and starting training the NOV 30th!
i hear that OCS is much harder than bootcamp so we'll see...
Congrats. That is about how long Army flight school is too, and so far it is nothing but sitting around.
Told you. Once you actually get into IERW the pace picks up.
Its looking like I won't even start the JOPD/BOLC/SERE block until after Christmas leave
The B Co Commander found 3 people in the sauna at the gym today during pt. So now Mondays and Wednesdays have turned from gym days into run days for the whole company. Just as it is starting to get way too cold for my liking.
That sucks, looks like you will be on the typical 5 month hold plan. You might see the TH67 around March or so. Gives you time to nail down your 5 & 9.
God bless the few lazy fucks that ruin it for everyone. Wife works at that gym, and says people are always sleeping upstairs around the racquetball courts during PT.
Flight physicals, i love it.
...I dread that day every year
I did my flight physical last week. Walked out with a P2 profile and the knowledge that my eyesight is going to shit.
update: I have arrived at my motel in Newport RI waiting to start OCS this Sunday. Tomorrow, i'll go and get my base pass and join up with some of my OCS classmates for last good meal at a local pub. For some reason, going to OCS this time feels much different than when i was going to great lakes for my basics. When i dropped off my wife this evening at the airport for her to go back home, it just plain sucked. I just hope that these 15ish weeks (including holiday leave period) pass by quickly and get the f-ing out of here!
update: I have survived the first 3 weeks of OCS and now back home on holiday leave. First off, OCS is much more difficult than I have imagined. These marine DI's are no joke. After the leave, our 4th week starts and that means RLP, Room Locker Personnel inspection. It is suppose to be one of the hardest evolution in OCS, and the candidate needs to pass this in order to advance to next evolution.
lots of yelling? just dont take it personally though im sure youve heard that before. how is the PT?
its all a mind game
PT is not that bad. mon, wed, fri is run day where we run around 3.5 miles and on other days, we do strength and conditioning exersise, which sucks more than running.
I don't really mind the yelling since i've been to bootcamp already but all the stupid stuff that they make you do in addition to sleep deprivation kinda gets to everyone. I just want to get RLP out of the way so it'll be little less stressful
Thanks for the updates. The progress is neat.
yea, working on my RLP stuff right now at home and let me be the first one to say that it sucks! Already spent countless hours IP'ing, stamping, precision stamping and polishing. When i get back to the base, i'll have to start folding shit to exact specs. I already see myself sleeping 3 hrs/day next week in preparation for RLP that's on Thurs
Didnt you do that shit in basic though?
