I am a huge Gundam fan but I only like the old school stuff; original Gundam, the two Zeta series and any movies or OAV related to them. Is Gundam seed more like those, with a serious adult oriented story? Or is it more like all that kiddie bullshizz that seems to have started coming out since Gundam Wing and the like? I just want to know before I spend any energy trying to find Gundam Seed. Thanks for any advice.

They have their own version of Newtypes called Coordinator.
Most of the Tomino series as well as those UC timeline were awesome as well as the . I like the Gundam Wing series and the Endless Waltz sequel though and G Gundam too. Heck I love ALL GUNDAM series.

So the Gundam Seed story does not take place in the same timeline as the UC series? Is it an alternative universe like G Gundam?

I've saw up to 14 (14 was just a review of what they did before) ..

so far I like it. Well since I've only seen Gundam Wing I can't really say how is it compare to the other.

I really enjoy Gundam Wing though I thought the Mech was way cooler then the Seed ones.

    Haven't seen it yet.

I guess I'm the only one around who enjoyed Gundam Wing.

Personally I would have to say it's a mix between wing and the original mobile suit gundam(very similar storyline)

I'm still waiting to find out from someone if Gundam Seed takes place in the UC (Universal Century) era or a parallel universe....:dunno:

It doesn't take place in the UC century. The approach is like Gundam Wing, which is to "paraphrase" the original Mobile Suit Gundam series, but with their own twist. It is set in the Cosmic Era, which qualifies it to be an Alternate Universe Gundam series.
Instead of Zeon, you get Zaft. THe colonies are Plant. And you get the Earth Alliance, which is a version of the MSG Federation.

The show is progressing SLOWLY. I'm not very happy with some of the production quality. THe music is blah. The Gundams is good, but not up to par. The chara designs are interesting in how they incorporated previous clothings from other shows into the mix. I don't like CGI work. I prefer the old style. It has such kinetic energy to it. There are highlights to the show, but not enough. Hopefully, it'll get better. So far I haven't been impressed. But it'll get better. Up till now, I can't say that it's better than Gundam Wing. And I can compare the two because that's the approach they're taking it.
