Something I've never been able to understand about certain women at the gym is that they seem to have "bigger" legs (thighs) than some of the men, yet whenever they work them out, they're going 50 pound squats on the smith machine. Are they just not working out the muscle to it's potential or are their thighs mostly fat?

It seems that women usually have bigger thighs (and glutes) than men, in general, and I would think they'd be stronger than guys with chicken legs.

iirc, it has something to do w/ their center of gravity, too

that's why when women gain weight, it's in their thighs/butts first and when men gain weight, it's around their stomach/love handles

:dunno: just something i read somewhere
