if you use search you'll see the guys who have them love them and shenanigans wil tell you any series II are MIM junk.
but to cut to the chase since you don't case about pricing def. give a look to wilson/les baer ect..

most of the guys say avoid not getting full size as well..

Buy the best 1911 you can afford. I've owned both of the brands you metioned, I no longer have the Wilson, but still own 3 Baer's. For the money they are pretty hard to beat. Don't get me wrong, Wilson makes a great gun, but I don't think they are worth the asking price.

I will look into Baer's models then. Any specific one I should consider for daily carry?

I don't have an issue spending the cash if it is my daily carry weapon.

It looks like the verdict on Kimber has already been reached, but I'll add that a friend/coworker of mine has an ultra carry and that little fucker will not run reliably on ANY ammo. At least one ftf per mag.

and on the other side of things I've got a close friend who between him and his dad (a constable) have enough guns to equip a small army.. They swear by their Kimbers and he uses an Ultra Carry for his everyday carry piece and has never had a problem with it... he doesn't even oil his guns either, uses graphite.

True, it's impossible to tell by internet posts exactly what percentage of these things have problems. But when Larry Vickers says to stay away, I'm not getting anywhere near it.

I don't disagree.. it just sucks when you seem to be playing the lottery when you buy one... sometimes you win.. and other times...

it's kinda like buying a Taurus!
