sup guys? haven't been here in a while, thought OT was purely charge now. anyway, i bought one of those surplus P6 handguns and did a little carry modification on it. It replaced my 229R as my daily carry since it's worth much less. anyway, here are some pictures.

I replaced the stock trigger with a 239 short trigger, and added Siglite night sights. I'm sure some people here jumped on the $250 P6s. I lucked out and got a 1998 with very little wear. Internals look practically new and i doubt it was carried much.

Did you PS out the import carvings or did you manage to find one without them?

it's marked "CAI Georgia VT" on the left side of the slide in very small neat letters.

did a grip reduction on the stock grips to take that annoying checkering off. they feel really good now.

Possibly the most sound advice ever dispatched on OT.

You did a really good job sanding down the grips, the finish looks even and clean. I wish I had thought of that.... Hook us up with a range report on the 239 short trigger, I haven't heard of anyone doing that yet.

If they fit your hands (they don't mine:wtc:), I imagine you'd be hard pressed to do better for the money. I've had better luck with the older PW Arms imports (though the import mark is usually a horrific electro-pencil abomination) as far as "usage" and JHP feeding.

because of the limited supply of grips I decided to make my own fingergroove ones. they feel awesome! has the benefits of the grooves without the shitty palm swell that normally comes with the hogues
