    what i don't have:
    ar
    .22
    .17hmr
    shotgun

    what i have
    g34
    kimber ultra carry
    savage 110 30.06

i have 300 in my paypal and a bit more possible to spend

    i'm thinking about either a 93R17, a 10/22 or some sort of 12ga.

I could use the 17 or 22 for small game or target and the 12ga for HD & hunting.

    what would you do? :o

Get a Mossberg 500 with the interchangeable barrels. Good for home defense and hunting. Next pick up a 10/22

Well, you have pistol and rifle covered, shotgun is the final choice of the trio. However, I would go with whatever you think is going to see the most use.

It'd be hard to say what I'd use more out of the .17, .22 or 12ga

    How much louder is a 17 than a 22?

Ummm, not much louder I guess. (It's hard to tell since I usually have two forms of hearing protection in.) I would have to say that my Savage 93r17 is just about my favorite gun to take to the range.

everyone who shoots long guns needs a .22, cheap practice at it's finest.

Don't fuck around with weird stuff like .17 until you have your basics down: Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle, Boltgun
