The talk about safes lately made me start to think that I really do need to get one. Well, as luck would have it, one kind of fell into my lap. Background story: Mom owns some real estate. Guy who owes mom some payments, decides to sell some of his stuff to pay Mom said money. Mom informs me that he's got a safe sitting out in his yard for sale, and that he's desperate. Mom says it's a 'Gandy' brand. dunno. I Google 'Gandy', come up short. Take a trip over to desperate guy's house to look at said safe. Look safe over, come to the conclusion that it is indeed, a safe (I know nothing about safes ). Gander Mtn. brand, and in excellent condition w/ only a minor scuff or two. Guy says it's a year old and he wants $300 for it. I decline. Guy says he'll take $250 for it. I decline again, stating that I might be back after I do some research. I return home, attempt to look up said safe with no luck. I come to the conclusion that safe was probably around $500+, new. I return to guys house, offers $200. Guy accepts, and we load up my new safe. Guy now returns my money to my mom. Austin- newish safe Guy- Doesn't get evicted Mom- Got her money (guy sold some other stuff). Win for all. Now to load this bitch up.
