Currently have a Glock 26 and Remington 870. I live in an apartment, so primary uses for firearms are Self-Defense and CCW (I do have a permit). Spending limit is $1,000. I get law enforcement pricing on Glock due to my occupation :naughty: Go go go! :eek3:

    .

If you're in the market for a new gun I'm surprised you didn't jump on the AR bandwagon already. :p

Or a 10/22 for cheap shooting at the range.

I'm not too keen on building my first AR. I'd rather get something already built with a good name behind it (Bushmaster).

A fullsize or compact pistol (G19), then half of an AR. :o

Remember when we say build, we mean build like putting batteries into a flashlight or assembling a sandwich. :big grin:

Firstly there are a lot people who will say AR just because it seems to be a trend, but there is some truth to getting an AR or AK. Dems more than likely will attempt to pass another AWB if they win the presidency. So clearly buying the type of weapons that are covered in the ban may be a good choice if you are ever going to want one. Assuming of course that pre-existing evil black rifles are grandfathered in (even if transfer is prohibited.)

An AR is an AR for the most part. When most people say build an AR they mean install the fire control group, stock, and grip. I've rarely heard someone refer to an AR build in which they assembled a complete upper receiver as well. Assembling a lower isn't that hard, unless you are lacking opposable thumbs.

A proper high speed low drag tactical operator sandwich will actually be piled so high with meat that there is only 1 piece of bread to keep things simple. A vfg might be required for jumbo models.

I'd go with a rifle. Either an AR or a 10/22 with all the bells and whistles.
