Within the next 2-3 years, the MS Zune will be more popular than the iPods...

Given the price of the Zune, only true idiots will buy the iPod. Manufacturers of "This works with your iPod" will change to "This works with your MP3 player" very soon.

    iPod fanboys :greddy:

Btw, I own a 4GB Nano and a 30GB iPod Classic...my next MP3 player will definitely be a Zune. Can't believe I paid what I did for the freakin' iPods.

    But the Zune sucks.

I'm MP3 player-less right now cause my first iPod finally died and I haven't tried to bring it back from the dead. It lasted longer than expected.

I looked at buying a Zune, but it blows compared to Apples current offerings. If I was going to get something other than an iPod to replace it, it would be an iRiver.

How so? What justifies the $200+ difference?

I've had a 30GB Creative Nomad Zen Xtra since mid-2004, and while it's still working perfectly fine, I want something new, but more storage space, and capability to handle more than just MP3s.
I was going to get a Vision W, but I think Zone 2 is a better choice.

Wish these MP3 players came with flash drive expansion slots.

I'm rocking an iAudio X5L right now, I refused to buy an iPod because the shit was way too fucking expensive.

What they need to do is create a common bus (lol USB?) and common basic firmware parameters so you can easily hook up anything to any external device. That way people can still have car adapters, mini-stereos, etc that will work with whatever player you hook into it that works on the common bus and the common firmware parameters.

But that'd make too much sense.

I wish they came with a flash card slot so I could easily transfer pics off of a memory card.

Most new cars offer AUX ports which are common.

There is a reason that none of the competitors have been able to knock the iPod off of the top and it isn't just because of Apple's creative marketing campaigns. The device is just superior.

The Zune has some cool features. Many of which will most likely make it in to the next iteration of the iPod (like sharing before buying). But this doesn't make the Zune superior.

Sorry, that doesn't justify the price difference.

I really wonder what people are fucking up that they have problems with iTunes. I run it and have zero problems with it.

The first problem I have ever had with it was moving to Vista on my new laptop where when I launch it, sometimes, it doesn't redraw the screen. But that is a Vista issue, not iTunes.

I'm still trying to figure out what you guys mean by "superior". Is it made out of babies tears or some rare metal?

Error 404: Superior features not listed.

Go to your local Fry's, play with all the devices. If you go in without any preconceived notions, you will most likely leave with an iPod.

If you are getting what you pay for, sure it does.

You consider that the HD in the iPods is $80 by itself, this doesn't include the rest of the gizmos that run it.

When compared to the Zune, no, the hard drive price means dick to me when we're talking about overall price and functionality. What makes the ipod superior to justify a $200 difference?

Right, but then you're still fumbling around with your device and not the car's stereo. People like the ability to use the stereo or whatever device they've connected it to to control the player itself.

AUX ports are a nice step forward (I'm surprised it's taken them this long to put them in as standard), but it's not as far as it could be taken.

You love it because you got it for free or because it works well?

  25. I am use to having an Ipod, once habits are set, it's hard to break them.
