I'm in the market for a .22lr rifle, but I'm not sure what to look for aside from 10/22s... any suggestions? Ideally an accurate plinker. :x:

10/22 is best option with modability, the marlins a decent gun, my calico 22 is fun.

10/22 + $100 in internals and you'll have the most accurate gun you've ever owned.

If you want a semi-auto that is accurate out of the box then this is a good choice.

If you want something that you can tinker with then get a 10/22.

I'm getting a Remington 597 sometime in the next few weeks. Cheaper than a 10/22 and I don't intend on making some ridiculous "ultimate" gun I'll never get my investment back on.

I have a Marlin 81TS (I think that's the model). Bolt-action, tubular fed. It will shoot shorts, longs, and long rifles. I have a 4x scope and it will cut the heads off of dandelions. I think it cost me all of $140 new.

I love my Savage Arms .22

Picked it up at Wal-Mart for like $120
Even picked up a couple extra 10 round magazines.

    It's a blast
