wiring the sub help?

    hey guys

    i have some old pioneer ts w303c subwoofers...

    the pos + neg connection on the subs are just two pieces of metal...

    am i supposed to solder the wires on? or what should i do? :noes:

    thanks... i will most likely solder it because i dont want to deal w/ it coming loose and me having to rip open the properly sealed box.

    btw... is it just my crappy sub, or are most subs like that?

    Seems like those are just regular spade tabs, which are standard on most speakers. You can pick up some standard female spades from radioshack (blue ones) for a couple bucks to see if they work. You have to crimp them though.

    I have alpine type R's and you push down on one of the terminals and a a little opening shows, you stick the wire in and stop pushing and it clamps itself down.

    ah cool... thanks for the replies guys. very informative.

    once these pos pioneers die, ill pick up some better subs.
