Ok i have two jl audio 12w6v2 and im running them both off a 1200w sony xplod amp(enter laugh here:rofl: ) The fucking amp works good though. anyway ive decided to get another amp and use one amp for one sub. so when i put in this other amp, can i just run the one power cable from the battery to the amp, and then from the amp to the new amp, or do i need to run 2 seperate wires from the battery to the amps.

4 awg is really too small if you're running over 1200RMS, but I'm guessing the Sony amp is rated at peak power. Other's might disagree with me, but if your combined RMS value is say 1000W or below, 4awg should be fine. If it's more, go with 2 or 0/1.

If you run a single line from the battery to the two amps, and you're over 1000W go with 2 or 0. If you run two lines from the battery (one wire per amp), 4awg is fine for each wire.

If you go with a single wire then you can't just run it to one amp, and tap power for the other amp off the first one. To do it right you must buy a distribution block split the large wire from the battery to two smaller wires for each amp, preferably a fused distribution block with fuses rated for the individual amps (check your manual). Also, if you upgrade to a large single wire from the battery, you need a larger fuse within 18 in of the battery that is rated for the combined power of both amps.

    Get Tblocks.

And anything over 4agu is a waste of time on a factory charging system.

Just a question but you have 2 12w6v2 so obviously you dished out some cash on them. Why are you buying MA audio and sony amps. Why not do it right like you did the first time and get a decent amp:dunno: My buddy owns a car audio shop and from what ive seen MA isnt all that good. I would suggest getting a 500 or 1000.1 from kicker. I think you would be much happier in the end.

Really im suprised, we had one at the shop I used to work at and it was paper light, then again it wasn't the top of their model line. :dunno: I just hatted we would always get people that would come in spend 3-400 bucks on subs alone and then want the cheapest amp. Never really made since to me.
