I currently have a netgear router and i keeps taking a shit on me by dropping connections. I was wondering if this would be any better. I will have 2 laptops connected wirelessly and one computer wired.

Ive also heard some people say that Linksys quality has gone down lately would I be better spending the extra $50 and get the D-Link DGL-4300?

Main things I need are good signal strenth withing about 100 feet through a few walls, doesnt drop or need to be reset. Decent security so I can setup a password to allow wireless access and the ability to port foward to allow torrents. Any advice or other suggestions?

I have, and have installed over the last year or so, several Linksys WRT54Gs and have had no problems with any of them. I wouldn't recommend anything else. Price is good, setup is easy, and reliability is not a problem either.

If you get a Linksys, make sure you consult the dd-wrt compatibility list first because you'll want that firmware upgrade.
