I'm thinking of going with the Linksys WRT54GL but thought I'd ask for suggestions. Getting good reviews on Newegg.

I had a Belkin but I swear, BELKIN SUX. I dunno why I ever bought it in the first place cuz seriously NOTHING i've bought of Belkins works past the 90 day mark. Anyways, it keeps locking up on me. I program on the schools computer and when I simply cat a file, the damned router locks up....it also locks up while gaming. I'm hoping this new router will fix that shit.

I managed to buy the Linksys Wireless G/VPN router. It's a little more than I need but I have a problem with buying consumer level equipment sometimes.

It's twice as much up front but only 1/2 the headaches. I've been burned so many times by trying to save a few bucks with off brand electronics that it isn't even funny. The Linksys has lots off good reviews from people using it and has therefore has a proven track record. Besides "twice" as much is still very affordable.

Have fun spending 3 times then money when your crap products don't work and you end up having to also buy the quality. Been there, done that.

I have the dlink 624 and love it. beats the shit outta my Linksys I had before. Better range and more stable.

My Linksys would disconnect me all the time.

People rarely come to post threads like "My linksys has been running flawlessly for 3 years" so if you're going to hear something it's going to be bad, and since linksys is the #1 selling router you're going to hear about it more often.

I agree but looking at the reviews on both newegg and Amazon it's clear that all Linksys routers are not created equal.
