I have a wireless router - Wireless B Linksys Model BEFW11S4. The problem I have is when I'm on the internet with my desktop and someone logs on with a notebook it will kick me off about 70% of the time. Sometimes just moving the Cat5 from the first port in the back to the second will reconnect me but other times I have to shut everything down and recycle the modem and router to get it running again which sometime's causes provblems for the notebook to log on and is a huge inconvience. Does anybody know what the problem is and/or a possible solution?

that used to happened with me.
I change ISP and got a new modem. With the new modem and old router, things seem to be working properly.

Maybe it's a bad/defective modem? The router shouldn't kick people off when another use connects.

Make sure you are using the DHCP from your router and not your modem. Also, just incase, do a firmware upgrade.
