We have a laptop that was previously connected through a lan cable. We recently added a wireless router, and disconnected that laptop and had it join the network wireless.

Here is the question: Will the wireless router change the IP address of that laptop on some set schedule? That laptop was being accessed by Remote Desktop Connection, but now the connection fails, and thats most likely due to the fact that the IP has changed.

So is the router changing the IP, and if so, can I tell it not too?

    Thanks.

wired or wireless will not matter if the AP is simply connected to the same subnet. Did you have a static ip configured on the wired connection? You need to mirror that config.
