Have a computer that has an old wireless card that only does WEP. Using WEP open when one computer connects the other disconnects. It's wierd.

I enabled mac filtering for all wireless devices on the network. Should this work as a bit of security until I get a new wireless card off ebay that does wpa?

mac filtering will prevent anyone from accidentally stumbling on your wireless network.. it doesn't secure it, though.

    this.

mac filtering and wep will keep anyone from accidentally connecting if someone *wants* to connect, the tools used to crack wep also allow someone to bypass mac filtering, so neither will stop them.
