I have a MBP that was working great with my wireless network. I went to do a software update and it displayed an error with network message. I clicked the network diagnostic button, followed some prompts and it eventually said it can't help me.

Since then I have not been able to connect to the wireless network. My 2 windows and 1 Ubuntu machine connect ok.

I've looked around and googled for help with no luck.

Also I’m a mac newbie, so I might have over looked something simple.

My wireless is all jacked up on my MBP too. I can join, but every couple of hours I lose the internet (it still says I'm connected to the router, but the internet doesn't work). And, I can't get back on. I've tried turning off the router and airport on my MBP, nothing. However, my Mac Mini, which I've tested hardwired and wireless, always works.

The only way to get the internet back is for my to shut down my MBP and then restart it.
I'm calling AC too, it's been doing this for a while, I've just been too lazy.

I thought I'd play around with the wireless channels. It connected on channel 6 and is working sweet.

It was already set to channel 6 before I started changing them, tried a few different channels and it still wouldn't connect. Went back to 6 and it connected.

I might fight for a replacement, and maybe ask for the a/b/g/n card that comes in the current Macbook Pros (I've got a CoreDuo, which means no N as of now)

i had the issue until i trashed theLibrary/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.networkConfig.plist

you do have to resetup the network system pref.

I have the exact same problem. It's not very frequent, but sometimes my connection will start to lag. Latency to the router is usually quite high (~500ms). I turn off Airport and turn it back on, and no wireless networks are listed (I'm in an apartment complex where normally about 20 networks show up), and I have to restart to get my wireless to work again. My roommate has a Macbook and doesn't experience the problem, so I don't expect it to be a problem with the wireless set up. Next time it happens, I'll try what TurboDerek suggested.

Thanks for that, if it starts playing up again, I'll give that a try.
