Ok heres the deal, my friend has a labtop and a desktop. He wants to share his dsl connection with the computer, labtop, ps2 and xbox. He just bought a Linksys 802.11b Wireless router and wireless notebook card. Whats the best way to hook this up. He has an extra Dlink router if that helps.

I hooked up his router to the DSL Modem LAN port, then from his NIC to the port in the router. The computer can connect online, and the labtop found the wireless signal and can connect to it, but it wont go online, any suggestions?

You're on the right track. You may have to log into the router to check out the settings. go to http://192.168.1.1. Leave the username blank and the password is admin. You may have to enable wireless access on it. It will be in one of the menus. BTW, change the default router password while you are in there.

most likely an IP issue. Linksys stuff is 192.168.1.1 and DLink is 192.168.0.1. just doublecheck that in the laptop is has the gateway, and possible need the DNS depending on your ISP.
