ok, this is starting to get annoying. It seems to happen now whenever i play an xvid avi with niceplayer. after a few minutes i get a box that pops up to tell me that the wireless network has been compromised and will disconnect for 1 minute.

I looked it up online and lots of people said it was because i was using wpa instead of wpa2. so, i switched to wpa2 personal and it still happened. i reset my router (it runs dd-wrt) and restarted my macbook. seems to still happen

should i try wpa2 enterprise or something?

:gtfo: This isn't the main forum noob.

I haven't had this problem before but scrapping the preference/plist for network connections might fix it.

wpa2 personal is fine but dont use a dictionary word as a password. you could be being attacked by someone wanting free internet, or it could be an error. Try updating the AP firmware and try changing the channel significantly in case it is interference causing the error.

I had the same issue in the past. My wireless network was fine but when my friend would get on my wireless it would pop that message on my machine. If they were on the network first and I'd log onto the network they'd get the message and get bumped off. Never resolved the issue.
