So i am trying to get a connection to a wireless ap that is just slightly out of range for the built in wi-fi on my laptop. I am looking for something that is easily obtainable (preferably available at BB or the like), relatively inexpensive, and will work with my laptop (meaning not a desktop solution), that will provide better range that may help me get a connection to this ap.

    What are my options?

A buddy of mine recommended the linksys usb adapter...any thoughts about that?

you would want a usb one with an external antenna connection, hard to find in a shop.

Wouldn't it be easier to upgrade the antennas?
