I have a question regarding a 'what if'.
What happens (or what do people use to prevent) when you automatic window freeze's up in the winter time? How do you open your door?

On my 03 BMW coupe when you open the door the window 'drops' down a little to allow you to open the door. In the closed positon the window tucks up into a channel to combat window noise.
May Dads new Mustang does this too.
What do I do if it freeze's? I cant really carry a scraper around with me everywhere I go.

    Am I making sense?

Any help as to preventing this would be appricaited.

  2. When I had my M3 the windows did the same thing. It isn't a problem at all if the windows freeze. Don't worry about it.

It's not really an issue when you're opening the door; the rubber seal will just pull out of the way. It's when you close the door that the seal will get trapped, at least until you drive the car and it warms up inside and the ice melts. At that point, when you get out of the car at the other end of your trip, the window and the door seal will play nice again.
