Tis the season to be jolly....
Where do you guys holster in the winter?
AR pistol with a drum mag.
There's no winter here, only a cooler summer.
My carry style doesn't change, ever.
Went from my Taurus 905 (9mm revolver) to a G27.
this. My jacket just happens to cover it now.
Still working out my carry style. But I'm fast becoming a fan of a bigass blackhawk serpa on my hip with a shirt draped over it.
Always IWB. Either 3:30 with a MS SSII, or 1:00 with a Raven ACR, depending on what I'm wearing and what I'm doing.
Glock 26 inside the waistband holster
S&W 642 on an ankle holster
thoughts on raven acr? looks interesting.
now it just becomes a PITA here, as if I legally OC, my coat has to stay up over it and I get chilly, or I just CCW illegally (usually). Or I could just wear my drop holster...
The G29 in an OWB holster conceals perfectly under a coat.
Wouldnt want to do that in TX, print and you can lose your license
Holster body is awesome. Well formed, comfortable, & lays extremely flat. Trigger guard retention which I am usually not a big fan of but this one is done right... very crisp, positive feel and fast release.
Mounting hardware... not so much. One of the overhooks broke within the first month, did a DIY replacement with an extra CompTac poly overhook I had. The other overhook broke a few month later, replaced that with another CompTac part. Finally the rear support strut snapped in half just behind the screws. Called Raven and they replaced all of the mounting hardware with their rubber belt loop setup at no cost. Problem with that is that the loops don't lay nearly as flat as the kydex over hooks so it is not as discrete under a lightweight cover garment.
I've read several places that they are reworking the kydex mounting hardware. They need to get hooked up with the joint that makes CompTacs poly overhooks and order them as blanks so they can be drilled to work with Ravens hole spacing. Their belt loop mounts need to ditch the rubber loops and go with leather which conforms to the belt and lays much flatter. That rear support strut should just be made of a stiff piece of leather or urethane coated nylon.
Cliffs: Great holster body, shitty mounting hardware. Raven is a stand up company, but they're not using the right materials to optimize the design. Still a good holster and carry in it about 1/4 of the time.
"Printing" is not openly discernible.
G26 for CCW FTMFW
Too small for my monkey paws
Because even if I were fat, my fingers get it all.
Thanks man. On the fence between raven acr and comptac neutral cant. Think i'll wait and see what raven does about their mounting hardware first.
You never seen someone with fat fingers?
I've never had fat fingers, even when I was fat.
CHL instructor said you just can intentionally print or display the weapon
