I decided I really hate the spoiler on the back. I tried to wait it out and find a wingless DSG that wanted to swap, but no dice.

I bought plastic plugs at the hardware store, and used touch up paint to make them match.

Pics here. Hopefully the last of the 4x4 club pictures.

Can you see the plugs? Barely.

yes, but most mustang guys consider 94-98 as sn95 and 99-04 as "edge"

Nice. What kinda tires are those? I need new ones.

As for filling the holes, I'm still trying to find a V6 to swap decklids with.

    Bondo? No way.

The correct thing to do to "shave" the holes is to get them glassed... these trunklids are a fiberglass/plastic composite (same with the hoods). Bondoing holes = :nono:, it won't last. Glassing is something I'll look into when I have more cash. That or buying a trunklid are both more than I'm willing to spend on it right now.

As for lining up, everyone I know who has changed a trunk has had no problem.

The cheapest way to do the wingless look without holes is to find someone with the same color car, and swap trunk lids (don't forget to change the locks too). Its hard to find one whos willing to swap... they all think you're trying to scam them.

very true. that's why i haven't done the bondo route. i've never seen anybody wanting to even trade deck lids. i need to hit a junkyard or something.
