anyone train in Wing Chun?
no because I like to fight instead of get my ass kicked
not what i asked, maybe the question was too complicated for you to understand.....lemme guess you take BJJ.......no what capoeria?
hahaha typical wing chun answer
how's this: I think that the trapping game, trained properly in conjunction with other techniques, and be a useful addition to someone's clinch game.
does that make your wing chun feelings hurt a little less?
no what style do you train in Maestro?
it's not a style you would have heard of but I trained shaolin kung fu for 10 years and have been training for 3 in a style that trains in all the ranges (striking, close quarters, wrestling, grappling) and both sport and self-defense scenarios.
shaolin has lots of styles, can you narrow it down seems like you dont want to say
the style I currently train is called 'mushin dao' and is only trained at my dojo, it's the result of my instructors combined years of training in many different styles.
the kung fu i practiced was called "northern shaolin praying mantis" under master yun yang wang, under grandmaster victor cheng (I believe is how it's spelled, it's been years)
is there a point to this thread?
you came into a combat sports forum asking about wing chun, I'm fairly confident nobody here trains it.
Thats all I'm sayin'
i googled mushin dao looks like a good mix of many arts. I have nothing against mixed martial arts but i do have a question (i train in Wing chun the only other stuff i know is some basic ground stuff) How long does it take to master an MMA like mushin dao?
that's why I'm always hesitant to put up the name of my style.
we're NOT an mma gym, we don't prime fighters to compete in MMA. we mix elements of martial arts but we are NOT a Mixed Martial Arts dojo.
your whole mentality of mastering MMA is false. you will have to train hard in all the ranges and find what works best for you.
Op: I dunno what that youtube is but wing chun it aint. looks like a kungfuy guy get owned
well said Maestro MMA like UFC isnt martial arts its a sport. your dojo is truely mixed Martial Arts.
here's what you do broseph.
you google MMA, BJJ, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Machado, etc in your local area.
go to the gym, take the free class, try to use ANYTHING you've EVER trained in wing chun with any effectiveness.
I promise you will change your mind about wing chun real fast.
be careful tho, many wing chun sifu's will ban you from their school if you check out another academy
lol my wing chun instructor teaches BJJ as well
unfortunately for everyone out there who trains in more than one art, you can't call yourself a mixed martial artist just cuz you train in aikido and tae kwon do. saying "I do mixed martial arts" means you train and compete in the sport of mixed martial arts.
and you will never hear me say I do MMA
well it's good your instructor believes in crosstraining. there may be hope.
what's his bjj credentials?
I do apologize for being a cockass. I'm nobody special and this isn't bullshido.
no more blind hate from this guy, sorry.
everyone fears my tiger crane animal style
well thats what NUB gets for asking stupid questions....i took wing ching for a year, then went on to train in jeet kune do for couple more....
they all have their good elements i guess you could say but MT suits me best and i think its just better.
OH COME ON! Thats not fair! lol. That Kung Fu guy looked like shit.
