Downloading it right now should be done in about an hour. I'm going to test it on one of my systems to make sure all goes well with it before installing it on all of them.

downloaded and installed and haven't found any issues yet... annoying things yes like the firewall asking me if I want to allow any and everything.

I installed it last night on a spare XP box and everything is fine. In a way, I kind of like the idea of a built-in firewall and I may leave it on for a while to see how it works out. I'm more than ready to get rid of my Zonealarm for my web server. It will be a pain in the ass to 'train' the firewall until it can be setup without asking me to allow or block everything. Besides the firewall can always be turned off.

I guess I'm impressed so far. I always enjoy reading all the problems people have and how they hate Microsoft, but I've always had good luck with their products.

I'm going to install SP2 on my work laptop and my main home machine this week.

I installed SP2 yesterday on my laptop and this morning on my work machine. No problems so far. However I am not ready to roll it out to any of my users just yet.

I'll wait for a few more months at least - I've tried the RC and was not at all impressed :o

Windows Update will not have it ready until August 25th.

This is the network install, which encludes everything into one package, so it doesn't matter if your using XP Home or Pro. Also, it can used for slipstreaming.

Yes, this is the FINAL build & not a beta. I should know, I've been working with the beta, RC1, and RC2.

The firewall is not 100% fool proof, but will keep out most of the "kiddie" hackers. Zone Alarm has been known to having problems with Sp2 & the windows firewall. I would reccomend Sygate.
