I'm installing WinXP from a CD and once it's ready to install (after loading temp files) it tells me it can't detect an HDD. My Sata drive is connected properly and enabled in BIOS. What am I supposed to do?

I've tried using different SATA ports and nothing has worked. SATA cable and both power cables are plugged into the HDD. The HDD shows up when the computer is booting up... but the windows install can't find it

    Any ideas? :rant2: :x:

Since SATA came after the introduction of XP, there are no SATA drivers on the XP CD. At some point during the install, you have the option to install 3rd party drivers by pressing F6. You need to do that and stick in the disk that came with your motherboard/SATA controller.
