I bought a copy of XP from my college last year for $12, and I installed it on my parents computer. Now I'm building my own, am I going to have any problems installing it on my computer as well? If it matters I'm taking it off of theirs and installing 98 because they do not like XP, thanks.

Since the hardware is completely different, it will probably fail activation. If so, do a telephone activation and tell them your story. If they won't activate it, tell them to get fucked, then go on IRC and download the hack.

if they just prefer the interface of 98 over XP, you can change XP to look almsot identical to '98 in a couple of steps if you're interested.

It's not really the look of XP that they don't like, my dad just thinks it's the cause of every problem that their computer has ever had
