I'm not sure if that is possible. But, I do know that you can just download the lastest update for IE and install it and it should fix any problems you are having with it. When you upgrade it, it replaces most of the files that are part of IE.

What sort of problems were you having?

it's listed in the add/remove programs list - but I'm not sure what it would do if you tried to remove it since it's so tightly integrated with windows - there is also an option to repair internet explorer, why not try that first?

DON'T TRY TO REMOVE IT! I had heard my friend (who knows damn near anything you'd ever need to know about computers) say that it almost be safely done by normal means. Well, my sister decided one day that she didn't like IE so she wanted to uninstall it (she's running Windows ME :ugh: on her laptop). I told her not to, but she did anyway. She tried two separate ways, getting a message both times saying "You can't do this!" She then used the Norton program remove utility, and succeeded. Her computer would not boot after that. Then, rather than talk to me or my dad for help, she just called the brilliant tech support who told her to completely format and reinstall. She lost a ton of stuff.

Moral of the story: Don't try to uninstall IE.

Well here is the story. I can surf the net, but when I try to check my email, IE won't let me. I put in my screen name and password, and all it gives me is "This page cannot be displayed". It happens with www.aol.com, www.hotmail.com, www.juno.com etc.

    What do I do??
