I just reinstalled XP and now it crashes every 10 minutes. It won't crash when in Safe mode. And the error log says that it has something to do with "DCOM" causing the error. I disabled DCOM and it still crashes.

The blue screen when it crashes says that it is my USB port causing the error, but I don't understand how my USB port could cause my system to crash even once.

Next time you get the blue screen, right down the stop codes and you can look them up on the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

    1) format / re-install
    2) ***Install your chipset drivers ***
    3) Install SP2

That's exactly what I just did and now my computer crashes every 10 minutes, so how would that change anything?

yeah it didn't seem to crash at all before SP2 was installed on it, because since it has been installed it crashes every 10 minutes, and I had it running for about an hour before SP2 was installed and I reset my computer.

Hoever, I just got home and my PC won't even boot up. It just sits there running but doesn't do anything. I even tried to manually reset my bios because that usually would make it boot up but even that doesn't work.

    :crying:
